Yvonne Chaka Chaka Is Coming To Town!

You might know her for her popular hits; I’m in love with a DJ, Umqombothi, Mama Land, Thank you Mr. DJ… You name them. The internationally renowned singer and humanitarian, Yvonne Chaka Chaka will be gracing the stage at the Koroga Festival this weekend.

The Koroga Festival, which is a bi-monthly music and arts festival, has seen our very own great acts such as MTV’s EMA Best African Act Sauti Sol, Mayonde, Juliani, and many other talented artistes bring down the house with their electrifying performances. The festival which is hosted by Capital FM has also attracted international artists such as Papa Wemba, Baba Maal, Mafikizolo, Freshlyground and Simphiwe Dana, much to the delight of the festival goers.

The name Koroga which is Swahili for “mix” is a great representative of what the festival encapsulates; bringing together brilliant and diverse talent while still appreciating the rich Kenyan culture. The event, which is held at the picturesque Arboretum gardens, provides a beautiful background to the day's activities. The best part about The Koroga Festival is that it is a family event which means you can tag your little ones along for a fun-filled Sunday afternoon. The kids can play various games at the play area  while you get to enjoy lots of juicy nyama choma.
