This will be the multiple Grammy-winning DJ’s first live performance in Kenya. Jeffrey Allen Towne popularly known as DJ Jazzy Jeff is an American record producer, DJ, actor, and comedian. He is popularly known for his role as Jazz in the 90’s American sitcom, 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. He has also maintained a close friendship and musical collaboration with American actor, producer, and songwriter, Will Smith, who played the lead character in the 90’s sitcom. Jazzy together with his partner-in-crime etched their line in hip-hop and won the first rap Grammy award in 1989 (Best rap performance). The duo also have a record together, “Summertime” which is the lead single in their 1991 album, Homebase, and which bowed at no.4 on the Billboard Hot 100.

What we love most about DJ Jazzy is his musical versatility, innovative production, and flawless turntable skills. They don’t call him the Magnificent DJ Jazzy for nothing. Jazzy will also be accompanied by his MC Dayne Jordan who'll take you on a musical journey come May 5th. That's not all. Jazzy Jeff will have a guest MC , Rhymefest on stage. Rhymefest, whose official name is Che Smith, is an American Hip-Hop artist who's famous for his award-winning songwriting skills and has worked with the likes of Kanye West, John Legend, and Common. 

 

The event which is hosted by HypeXP and Mass Production will also see our very own DJs showcase their prowess on the turntables that evening. Expect performances from your favorite DJ's such as @DJ Adrian, DJ Andre Addiction, WDjay, DJ Mista Dru, and the African Mzungu DJ Kace. This show will be part of DJ Jazzy Jeff's popular Vinyl Destination web series that documents his experiences on and off the stage while on tour.
